PERIOD OF INSCRIPTION: FROM APRIL 28 UNTIL JUNE 28

Bajo La Sombra is a photo contest that tries to sensitize and view the struggle of women around the world to enforce their rights. We want to attract attention on the society and the governments to meet the Millennium Objectives and the goals of Beijing Platform.

The photo contest will develop based on a double subject-matter:

• The political participation of the women: The importance of the women are in all areas of decision making, to represent and to be represented.



• The Economy of the care: activities, goods and services required for reproduction and maintenance of life, which for years have made women and has not been visible or valued. From the campaign we want to make visible these activities and advocate the need for shared responsibility between men and women and the assumption of responsibilities by the state.

There will be the only award provided with the quantity of 1.500 €.

Also 9 finalists will be selected with a Special Mention, which photos will appear in an exhibition that will cover at least 5 Autonomous regions and four countries of Latin America throughout the year 2010.

In the deliberation, the jury will take into consideration the aesthetic quality, sensitive and informative of the presented works.

The jury will be composed by the following persons:

Participant may be any person over 18 and resident in Spain, Latin America and Africa, no matter their nationality. That is enthusiast of the photo, whether is a professional of the communication or not. Each participant may submit a maximum of one work in each category.

Photographs may be sent by mail or regular mail. The deadline for receipt of works will be between April 28 and June 28.

Delivery by email will be done to prensa@mueveteporlaigualdad.org specifying the subject "Photo Contest".

Sending by post shall be made by CD. It will be specified on the folder "Photo Contest." The photographs must be sent in schedule form 9 hours to 20 hours at the following address:

Data to be completed by the participants:

• Title of the piece.
• Brief description of the picture (where it was taken).
• Full name of the author, telephone number, mailing address, email, name of a contact person in case of being absent.

The verdict of the jury and the names of the winners of the contest will be announced at a public event during the last quarter of 2009, at the place and date that opportunely should be indicated.
